What's the difference between Virke Cloud and self-hosted?
Virke Cloud is our managed platform — we handle infrastructure, scaling, and operations. Self-hosted means you run the open source Virke stack on your own Fastly account. The code is identical; you just manage it yourself.
Is self-hosted really free?
Yes. The Virke software is free and open source (MIT license). You only pay Fastly for the infrastructure you use on your own account.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
You'll be charged the overage rates listed above. There are no surprise throttles or shutdowns. We'll notify you as you approach limits so there are no surprises.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes, upgrade or downgrade at any time. Changes take effect immediately. Downgrades are prorated.
Do you offer custom plans?
For high-volume or enterprise needs, contact us. We can build custom plans with volume discounts, dedicated support, and SLA guarantees.
